Will my embroidered patch look just like my art? This depends on what your art looks like, or is. When duplicating a current embroidered patch, it will look the same, or better in many cases. If you have printed art, like many, if not most, customers, here is something to keep in mind: Embroidery is a class act! But, it is sewing, and you might not have the level of fine detail in an embroidered item that printed art typically has. Embroidery isn't meant to compete with printed art.  Rather, it presents a richer art that possesses depth, and texture-something with which printed art can't compete! (top)

Letting Size is often a concern when converting printed art to an embroidered patch. While the detail of embroidery is surprisingly fine, lettering has what you might call "detail within detail". That is, it's not just the letter that is being embroidered, it's the detail of the lettering, also. "E"s, "S"s, and "A"s have cross-members, or curves, and open spaces that need to be maintained for readability. That's an important point, readability.  The observer doesn't have to discern the detail in the other art in your patch to get an impression, but they do have to be able to discern the detail in lettering. For these reasons
lettering needs to be at least 1/4" high. However, there are many times when slightly smaller letter sizes will work fine. (top)

100% embroidery vs. less than 100% embroideryPatches are embroidered on a twill backing.  This backing comes in many colors, although not nearly as many as does embroidery thread.  Often this backing is used as one of the colors in a design, and left unembroidered.  Name patches are a common example of this process. This method is very satisfactory for many applications, especially when budgetary concerns warrant it. However, 100% embroidered patches exude a higher quality appearance, and are more substantial. Will I be able to approve the art that you create for me? Absolutely! Once you place your order, art will be created per your specifications or edited to embroider well, if required. You'll have an opportunity to approve, or make changes to your art before production begins.  If Prism can't create the art to your satisfaction, you'll be able to cancel your order at no charge. (top)

Will I be able to proof my patch before they are sewed? If you want! You'll receive a scan of your patch via e-mail before it's committed to production. You'll be able to make any changes you'd like, including color changes, as long as your changes conform to the approved art for the patch. Please be advised that a proof adds to the shipping time, usually.  Not all designs really require a proof.   I'll be happy to advise you further, once I've seen your art.  You are not at risk, if you forgo a proof. In the unlikely event that your patches are wrong, I'll gladly replace them at no charge. (top)

How long does it take to receive my patches? It typically takes about 7-10 business days to ship your patches. (top)

What is your cancellation policy? You are ordering custom patches, which is not an item that can be resold to another customer.  Therefore, once an order is accepted it can not be canceled. If an order is canceled within a day or two of it being placed, a cancellation fee of $25 MIGHT be allowed at the sole discretion of Prism Patches, Inc. (top)
